Privacy & disclosure
Plain answers about
your plans and our links.
No legalese. This page says what we store, what we refuse to do,
and exactly how the shopping links pay for the free app.

01What we store, and why
- Your plans and projects — the file you upload, its rendered sheets, and
the furniture you place — stored on our servers so your projects open on any
device you sign into and can be shared with your household.
- Your account — when you sign in with Google or Apple, we keep the
provider's stable ID, your email, and display name. We never see or store a
password: Poché has none, by design.
- A session cookie — one httpOnly cookie that keeps you signed in. No
analytics cookies, no trackers, no fingerprinting.
- Operational logs — standard server logs for keeping the service healthy,
and nothing more. There is no telemetry in the editor.
- Feedback you send us — if you file a change request from the app, the
text you write (and only that, plus which screen you were on) goes into our
private issue tracker so we can act on it. Nothing from your plan rides along.
If you tick "OK to email me about this", your sign-in email is included with
that one request so we can reply — otherwise it stays out.
02What we will never do
- Sell, rent, or share your data. Nobody is buying floor plans from us, ever.
- Mine your plans for advertising or "insights."
- Rank shop results by commission. Ranking is by fit to your plan — a product that
pays us nothing outranks one that pays us plenty if it fits your room better.
- Hold your data hostage. Export and deletion stay free whether you ever pay or not.
03Atlas, and when a question leaves Poché
Atlas is the assistant inside the app. Almost everything it says never leaves our
servers: it answers by looking the number up in Poché's own measured furniture
library and published field guides, and by measuring your own drawing. No model is
involved in those answers, which is also why it cannot invent a clearance.
- When a question does go out. A question our own data can't answer on its
own — a follow-up that has to weigh two numbers against each other, say
— is sent to our model provider (currently OpenAI)
together with the facts Atlas retrieved and a
short summary of your plan (room names, piece counts, and the measurements
Atlas took). Your uploaded PDF is never sent.
- Reading what is printed on a sheet. Poché recovers the rooms of a
plan — where each one is and how many square feet of floor it has —
from the drawing's own walls. That is geometry, it runs on our servers, and
nothing leaves. What geometry cannot do is read the words and numbers printed
on the sheet, so once per sheet a downsized picture of it is sent to
the same provider, for one of two readings: the room names and roughly where each
one is, and — only when we cannot work out your drawing's scale any other
way — the dimension strings printed along its edges, so we can work the
scale out from them.
It is never asked to measure anything, and it never is. It is asked to
transcribe — to tell us what a label says and roughly where that
label sits. Every distance is then measured by our own code, off your drawing's
own pixels. Any length, scale or figure the model volunteers is discarded before
it can be used, in code rather than by policy, and a scale is only accepted when
several of your drawing's own printed dimensions independently agree on it.
Every number in Poché comes off your drawing or out of our own published
guides. Each reading is cached beside your plan so it is never sent twice, and it
is covered by everything else here: storage switched off, never used for
training, no transcript kept.
- It is not stored against your account. We don't keep a transcript. We do
keep question text de-identified and unlinked, because what people ask and we
can't answer is how we decide which guide to write next.
- It is never used for training. Our provider does not train on
anything sent through its API — that is the default for API traffic, not
something we had to negotiate, and we picked a paid tier rather than a free one
precisely because free tiers usually reserve the opposite right. Poché
also sends every request with storage switched off, so there is no conversation
held at the other end for us or anyone else to go back to. The provider may keep
request logs briefly for abuse monitoring, which is theirs and not ours.
- You can see when it happened. An answer written by the model is labelled
as such in the panel, above its sources. If it isn't labelled, no model saw
your question.
04Export & delete
- Delete a project any time from the home screen — it removes the uploaded
file, rendered sheets, and all placements from our servers.
- Export — the paper-true PDF and Moving Pack exports are yours today;
plain-file project export (the same JSON the app uses) ships with account
settings, and it will always be free.
- Full account deletion — an in-app control is coming with account
settings; until it lands, deleting your projects removes your content, and
the remaining account row is only your sign-in identity.
05The affiliate disclosure, in full
Poché is free and is funded by affiliate links. Here is exactly what that means:
- Some outbound product links carry an affiliate tag. If you click one and buy,
the store pays Poché a commission. The price you pay never changes.
- Affiliate participation never affects which products appear or their order.
Search and ranking are computed from your plan's dimensions first — fit is the
product. Stores with no affiliate program appear right alongside ones that pay.
- We disclose this here, in the site footer, and per FTC guidance. When specific
affiliate networks go live, they'll be listed on this page.
- When you click out to a store from the app, the link hops through our server
so we can count clicks per store per day — aggregate tallies only, kept with
our ops counts. No per-person click history exists, and the counter stores
nothing about you or your plan.
- Price-drop alerts are opt-in. If you turn them on, we re-check your
saved products' prices once a night and email your sign-in address only when
a price actually dropped. Every email has a one-tap unsubscribe, and turning
alerts off deletes the watch entirely. Nothing else is ever emailed.
06Free — and how it stays free
- Poché is free. The affiliate commissions above are the business model —
no ads, no data sales, no paywall on anything you can do today.
- No subscription. Ever. Furnishing a home is a project, not a service.
If a premium tier ever exists, it will be a one-time purchase wrapping
genuinely expensive extras, and your projects stay yours and exportable
whether you pay or not.
07Where your data lives
- Hosted projects are stored on servers in the United States.
- Nothing on this marketing site sets cookies at all.
